A reference file is actually a text file and can be edited in any word processor. GetARef features an advanced text editor of its own to edit reference files. Click for full view

Tillbaks Journal name database

GetARef features a journal name database containing > 18.000 abbreviated and complete journal names in addition to their ISSN numbers. Whenever a journal name is entered it is checked against the database. Click for full view The journal name database is used by GetARef both as a Thesaurus (i.e., to find alternative names of a particular journal) and as a spelling dictionary. It is easy for the user to enter new journal names. Click for full view

GetARef currently is able to import references from > 130 different sources.

The import procedure is simple because GetARef typically recognizes the origin of the dump.

GetARef features a direct access to PubMed that allows searching Medline in the same manner as when PubMed is accessed via web browser.

Moreover, this features makes it possible to import references directly from PubMed into a GetARef reference file.
